You remember all those “Lord of the Rings” books I was tortured by through high school? Bleary-eyed and groggy getting off the bus early in the morning?
Well, if only I had thought to read this beforehand. I don’t remember if I had no idea this existed at the time of reading those, or if I was simply just wanting to read the books before the movies came out, but I skipped over this prequel all together!
The Hobbit is not only an amazing book, but it actually is an easy read. I whipped through this book like there was no tomorrow! It’s obviously about a hobbit, you know, the one who had the ring before Frodo. Bilbo!
He’s a spunky little guy who doesn’t want to leave his house, but is forced to go on an adventure. He’s not like other hobbits.
Now I think I’ll read this again soon……. maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it.
