End of the Week Roundup

I’m officially done mooning over Kelley Armstrong, I swear! Alright, I’m not. She’s one of my favourite authors (as you can tell, I did just spend an entire week writing about her and her brilliance.) and lucky for me and her other fans she is coming out with a new book, and I have a few other short story books and one other novel of hers to catch up on before it comes out.

And thankfully I’m a genius and made sure to put that book waaaay up in my book list so I think I have three more books before I get to it.

Waking the Witch is the next K.A. book on my list and I’m really excited to read it because it’s all about Savannah, 21 year old witch who is coming into her own.

Ok, ok, enough about Kelley. I’m serious this time.

Next week I’ll be talking about Rick Riordan’s book series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ as I have been reading them all week in preparation for another book series blog week. Also, I’m a big nerd and like to read children books.

Tell me what you are reading this weekend and any other book suggestions and whatnot send my way! 🙂

Have a good weekend, and I hope you all had a happy St. Patricks Day!

  1. Hey Allison!
I won a copy of Waking the Witch last year. I loved it! I didn’t realize that it was part of a whole series. Now, the rest of her books are on my list of what to read this year (thanks to you)! As for what I’ve been reading lately, last week I read Confessions of a Shopaholic…. It wasn’t bad, but I just kept thinking “Shut up, Shut Up, SHUT UP… take responsibility for you debt and stop whining about it!!!!!” I don’t know if I’ll try the rest of that series or not… Yesterday I finished reading The Host… it was INCREDIBLE!! I work 42 hours a week, but I still finished it in about 4 days… I couldn’t put it down! I didn’t want the story to end… I really want to know what is in store for Wanda, Ian, Jared, Melanie and the rest of the group! This weekend I’m reading Odd Thomas. Then I have Spy Glass and Female Serial Killers waiting for me to pick them up from the post office on Monday. I’m really looking forward to next weeks reading!!!
    Have a good weekend!

    1. I’m really excited to read Waking the Witch, where did you win it? Lol, so random!
Confessions of a Shopaholic does get really repetitive, so I would probably tell you not to read the books all in a row for sure. Rebecca gets really annoying and it makes me want to punch her. Otherwise the writing is pretty good. The Host I am iiiinsanely in love with, I think I read it in two days (which happened to be my whole weekend.) I couldn’t put it down either, I didn’t think I would like it at all!
I’m so happy you are reading all of these books and that you like them too! haha, watch out for the Female Serial Killers one though, it made me not want to fall asleep, haha.
Have a good weekend with Odd Thomas, he’s one of my literary boyfriends, lmao.

  2. So, I completely spaced on coming back here to see if you had responded… I won Waking the Witch through Chatelaine magazine and the publishing company. I think they were giving away 1000 copies of the book. I submitted my contact information and one came in the mail. It certainly was random lol! Thanks for the advice about the Shopaholic books. I think I’ll definitely read some other books in between them. As for Odd Thomas, I LOVED it! The ending just about broke my heart in two.
Thanks for all of your book advice and reviews!! I love, love, LOVE reading, especially when it’s something new and different than what I would normally pick out. I don’t know what you’ve found, but there don’t seem to be that many people in our age group who have the same kind of obsession with books lol! I feel like books can become old friends and there’s nothing like holding the pages of a book in your hands. I have made Jeff promise that someday I will have a library with shelves of books from floor to ceiling. It may not be as grand as the one in Beauty and the Beast, but it will be my library and I will love it and hug it and call it my own lol.

    1. It is my dream to have a Beauty and the Beast library!!! I think next to a wedding that’s every girls dream. My cousin actually looked into ordering those ladders for her future library (they are building one right now.) and they are like 600 bucks! I’d say totally worth it though, haha.
Odd Thomas definitely broke my heart, it was like an immediate cry festival after they shocked me into figuring out that Stormy was gone. The next ones in the series are definitely lacking because she’s not in them.
There are definitely not very many people I know who are as obsessed with reading as I am, my friend texted me the other day and told me I need to get paid to read because it’s getting out of hand. lol. I wish that were true.
