Percy Jackson finds out he’s the son of a Greek God and ends up at a summer camp for kids who are born as “godlings” (so aptly nicknamed by Ares the God of War). This is where he finds out that he is being blamed for stealing the Master Bolt from Zeus and something else from Hades.
Percy must retrieve the stolen items and return them before all hell breaks loose on the mortal world.
And above all, he must save his mother from the Underworld.
I really enjoyed this book; it was good for brushing up on my legends and myths of Greek Gods and such. I relearned a lot and had fun reading this. I’m sure this was more aimed at ten year old’s than twenty-four year old’s, but still. I have an eight year old mind sometimes so this was right up my alley.
