I’m out! I’m out! I’m out! I’m out! No more. I will not subject myself to such distress anymore! I gave myself permission yesterday to bail and bail hard on this book.
This is my third attempt at reading one of her novels and I don’t know if it’s because I’m not a smartypants science person, or just a smartypants in general, I just cannot like them!
Everything started out good, it was a nice read I was following the storyline, I understood the characters (Even though they have hella hard names to pronounce) and I liked where it was going. But after about 100 pages I lost the thread somewhere and couldn’t find it again. It was like I had instant dyslexia and it became unreadable.
Also, I’m pretty sure that she doesn’t like women. I don’t know what it is about her, but the different worlds she has and writes about, somehow there are always offhand comments about women. It’s weird and I don’t like it.
So, I officially give up. I’m taking all the science fiction off my bookshelf. I’m out, I’m done, it’s over.
(For those of you who are interested you can google what this book is about because I’m not even going to bother. Which is big because I really love books and this writer just keeps making me hate it.)
–If you have a scifi book that will save the genre for me, then please. Let me know. It’s probably just Ursula and Arthur C. Clarke that’s making me not like it. And please, if you do, make sure there are no monkeys, slander against women and has lots and lots of zombies.
