Interview with the Vampire–Anne Rice

*Chorus of angels singing*

I finished it! ….so to speak. This was yet another book that I gave myself permission to skim the last hundred pages and move on.

Synopsis: It’s about a vampire named Louis that is trying to figure out how to be a vampire. He tells his story to some guy.

Yup. That’s about as much as I got from it and will probably remember. I liked it for the most part, but after awhile I just wanted it to be over! I think it’s a case of the Sherlock Holmes short stories where I was just reading them for too long that I couldn’t stand to be stoppered by this book anymore!

Being a terrible book fiend these last few weeks I’ve also just taken the next book in Anne Rice’s series “The Vampire Lestat” off my shelf. I don’t think I could bare to read it after my traumatizing boredom with this last one. Maybe I’ll pick it up in a few years when this is just a ghost of a memory.

All in all, I liked what I read of this book but life got in the way and it turned into an awful experience. Someday I’m sure I’ll be able to pick up some more of her books as she really is a fantastic writer and I’m not doing her justice here.

    It was me. Not her.
