I love Pooh Bear! With my whole heart.
This was my childhood wrapped up in one little book. It was so beautiful. And as much as I have loved Winnie-the-Pooh growing up, I had never actually read the book! How ridiculous is that? One of my favourite things in this world is my Winnie stuffie and yet, I had never honoured him by reading the book about him.
Such a travesty.
Well, I rectified that situation and here we are.
The stories were sweet, and simple, much like Pooh. Here’s the thing…some were a little weird. Not like Alice in Wonderland weird, but like…at one point Rabbit kidnaps Roo. To get rid of Kanga. They didn’t want her there. They didn’t want anything to do with Kanga, and Kanga gets majorly pissed because she figures out their plan and goes along with it and she treats Piglet like crap because of it. (Which I get, hello, they stole her baby.)
I knew Rabbit was a jerk, but I didn’t consider him a criminal my entire childhood.
Shit got real in the 100 Acre Wood.
Constant vigilance.
