Hey there sports fans!
So I’ve been inconsistent as hell lately. And yes, I realize I make a posting like this one every summer…fall…winter….spring….
But I’m human and sometimes daily life takes priority and I forget to write reviews for a year. SO there’s that.
Let’s see, what have I been up to recently? Mostly making things for my shop, conning myself into reading books to get out of my reading rut (Great Expectations was SO good that I kind of was left for awhile in a state of ‘This book isn’t good enough…this book isn’t good enough…” We’ve all been there.) and finally crawling my way back out.
It is my goal this week to get back on track with this and writing a bunch of new reviews and Keep Moving Forwards! …given that I’m a year behind on these things…*shrugging emoji*
Thank you for your patience (as ever) with my inconsistency.
But more items are coming to the shop soon and I’m hoping to open a more broad shop with Shopify and getting my act together in general.
Hope you are having a great summer and that you’re not in a book rut!
…did I just gypsy curse you???
You read that right. I read Britney Spears’ moms book.
The funny thing about that is: 1) I could care less about anything Lynne Spears has to say.
and 2) I found this book in a thrift store (surprise surprise) and found a ticket stub for a flight somewhere with a girls name on it from high school! And it turns out it was her book for real.
Anyway, this book was the autobiographical musings of Lynne Spears and on Britney’s life and what exactly went down in 2007 when Brit Brit lost her shit shit.
It was actually really nice to read a book from her moms perspective and even though I’ll never know the truth of anything because I don’t actually know this family, it was nice to think that this was all the truth and that her mom was really trying to tell her side.
Overall: good beach book, semi-interesting excerpts from Britney’s life (if you’re a fan that is.), and Mama Spears doesn’t pull any punches. I wouldn’t recommend it outright, but I wouldn’t tell you NOT to read it if you were in the mood for something like it.
I don’t normally post things about my Etsy store on here (besides saying I have one.) BUT this is the one year anniversary of my ‘Whiskey’ cross stitch. So I wanted to be grateful that people have bought things from my store, that I can mail out dirty and funny and lovely cross stitches to people all around the world because of Etsy and just yay yay yay for finding one of my figs!!! (I’ll explain later.)
SO! For the one year anniversary we are having a 15% off sale! (By ‘we’ I mean ‘me’ because I’m the only person who makes things for the store. I’m cool like that. A goddamn one woman enterprise.)
You just have to type in WHISKEY for the 15% off on anything you like and thank you to the universe for such a great thing in my life. (Sale ends June 1st!)
DerangedLibrarian for the cross stitch heaven of your dreams! haha
I’ll explain the fig tree next week.
Hope y’all have a good weekend!
Happy Friday little birds!
As you can see, no videos. I think I’m going to give up on the attempt for now. My computer has decided it doesn’t want to make them and has declared I have no camera attached. (Lies.) And I keep deleting what’s on my phone.
I am not tech savvy. Haha.
Anywho! After yesterdays sad news I thought I would end the week on a high note which means I’ll be doing two of my favourite things:
Making a list and reading.
I found a doohickey on Pinterest that sounds like a great challenge and I thought it would be fun if y’all joined me!
Here it is! Click to view.
Happy Friday and I hope you are having as much fun this weekend as Miles Teller does ever. This is my favourite GIF of all time.
Agnes and Gru from Despicable Me 2.
This is how I will be spending my weekend. Happy Friday and constant vigilance!
Two of my boys reacting to Fifty Shades of Grey.
4 years ago on this day (apparently) I started my blog!
It has been interesting to say the least, I love the comments from random people, the input, the love, the fact that I’ve heard from Cherie Currie and Kristen Johnston and I still can’t get over it!
Thanks for sticking with me and putting up with my tirades, insanity, and general delinquency.
Constant vigilance until the end!
