Honestly, he was too precious for this world. Startled by everything, scared of children, loud noises, leaves falling, me jumping on him yelling āBoo.ā Total chicken.
Iāll miss so many things about him. Like how he would try to scratch his eyes by motorboating me. Or huff and groan when Iāve been picking at him for too long like a disgruntled old man. Iāll miss his ever growing ever changing moles, skin tags, and inexplicable regrowing tail.
Iāll miss the way he would run to the front door, slide to a halt, get so excited that he would squeal in distress and then run and shake any pillow, blanket, or toy he could find.
Iāll miss when you would give him a new toy and he would immediately gut it of its fluff and chew a hole in the back of its head.
Iāll miss how much he loved any show with Southern ladies in it (we marathoned Designing Women together)Mindy Kaling, and hated the Walking Dead.
Iāll miss the intensity of his love.
Threatening him with murder because heās so cute and I want to crush him.
Hugging him super hard because it would calm him down.
Iāll miss the time he sneezed so hard a poop popped out of his butt. š¤£
Iāll miss tricking him with āWhoās here?ā. The way he just knows you have a timbit.
Iāll miss whenever I was sick, sad, or upset how he would join me in the pillow pile. Not because he knew, but just because he liked pillow piles and I was finally immobilized so I wouldnāt bother him.
Iāll miss how he was always so chilly and would try to snuggle Goose subtly, she would move away, and he would slowly edge his way back so at least their butts were touching.
Iāll miss how he would sit with you and lay his head on your chest just because. Iāll miss this Kleenex stealing, thunder coat wearing, sneezing on your face, antelope running, cheek puffing, bat-earred , pretend pillow, table grazing, turf war with squirrels, sunbathing, shadow of a dog.
Goodnight sweet prince. May you never feel anxiety again.
